Our History

The Birchwood Silver Band, as it was originally called, was founded in 1985 and conducted by Brian Quinn, who was, at that time, Head of Music at Birchwood High School, and a multi-talented instrumentalist. His philosophy was "rehearsals should be fun as well as industrious" and the existing band wholeheartedly embrace this sentiment. A couple of players still remember Brian's time in the band with fondness.
